Yeah, but Matthews doesn't score those if Hyman's not out there doin all the grunt work.

Real good pro who does it right day in, day out.

I call him the digger!

He'll dig the Leafs a new hole!

For poops and giggles decided to check up on HH, see what he's up to on twitter.

Apparently marner sucks. He's brutal defensively and loses the puck easily.

You can't make this poop up

Don't you roll your eyes at me

I'll put Ben Smith out there every time we need a goal.

Supplement the Matthews line with the Hunwick-Polak pairing.

Gotta have real good pros who do it right.

Matthews seems to be more of a shooter than a puck distributor for a center, who's a good comparable for him in the NHL?

Stammer comes to mind as a shoot-first center, but I don't think they play the same style really

In all honesty though, the kids are still learning how to play structured NHL hockey and make proper hockey decisions. Like possibly shooting the puck or passing to Matthews instead of a garbage pass to a trailing Rielly which leads to a goal against, as a random example.

It's the vets that should have no excuse. Why do they seem to have such a hard time figuring it out? Is it because they are too set in their ways to buy into a proper hockey system, or just that they simply aren't good enough?

If the former, then why keep them around? If the latter, then is that really who you want your young guys learning from?

HH really thinks Marner sucks? But he plays so tenaciously! Thought he'd love that!

Actually there's a good one, I never thought of him, was having a conversation with someone about this and couldn't think about who a good comparable was.

agreed, but I think Matthews is much better at controlling the puck along the boards, etc.

Carter is all about the shot.
